Alfred Earl Gibson, 76, of Irwin County, Georgia, died Thursday, June 9, 2016 at Pruitt Health Ocilla.
Memorial services will be held 2 PM, Sunday, June 12, 2016, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald, with the Rev. Russell Mears officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mr. Gibson was born May 23, 1940, in Polk County, Georgia, to the late Artis H. Gibson and Essie Mae Mauldin Gibson. He lived in the community most of his life and honorable served in the United States Marine Corps. He enjoyed dancing, singing and gospel music. He was an insurance representative with New Era Life Midwest. He was a member of Mystic Baptist Church and also attended Liberty Emanuel Holiness Church, in Ben Hill County.
He is survived by three children: Virginia Lolita Boney & Vic of Fitzgerald, Stacey Gibson, and Sherry Gibson of Fitzgerald; eight grandchildren: John Daniel Boney, John Malachi Boney, Jonathan Nathaniel Boney, Jeremy Boney, Jamie Lee Gibson, Matthew Paul Gibson, Joshua Eugene Gibson and a granddaughter.
