Bobby Earl Grantham, Sr., 81, of Tifton passed away Friday, June 10, 2016, at Tift Regional Medical Center. His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 14, 2016, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Larry Kerley officiating. Mr. Grantham will be laid to rest at New Bethel Church Cemetery in Ben Hill County. The family will receive friends Monday, June 13, 2016, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Mr. Grantham's residence at 49 Perdue Road in Tifton.
Pete Oden, John Bowers, David Segui, Wayne Selph, Petro Young and Marvin Young will serve as pallbearers.
Born October 21, 1934 in Ben Hill County, Mr. Grantham was the son of the late U. D. Cobb and Wootie Mae Smith Cobb. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Billie Ann Bowers. He was retired from Burlen Corporation. He also served in the United States Army. He loved his family dearly and was the best husband, father and grandfather that anyone could ask for. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Mr. Grantham is survived by his wife, Joan Young Grantham of Tifton; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Bill and Gay Grantham, Wendell Grantham and Bobby Grantham, Jr., all of Tifton; two grandchildren, Shanna Segui and Jason Grantham; and four great-grandchildren, Tatum Mercer, Grady Segui, Collins Segui and Jayden Grantham.
