Obituary

Sterling S. Saunders, 90, formerly of Brattleboro, Vermont died Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at the Golden Living Center in Norwood, MA.

Born Westminster, VT on April 28, 1926, he was the son of the late Henry J. and Eva I. (Hutchinson) Saunders.

Mr. Saunders grew up in Prospect, CT and resided in Brattleboro for many years.

He proudly served in the U.S. Navy for three years during WWII.

Before his retirement, he worked as an upholsterer in the office supply repair industry for many years.

Mr. Saunders was a member of the American Legion Post #5 in Brattleboro.

He was pre-deceased by his daughter Betty Jean Potts and a granddaughter Karen Hartery and is survived by a grandson Joseph Hartery of Woodbury, CT and a stepdaughter Sandra Streeter of Port Richey, FL.

He is also survived by five brothers, Richard Saunders of Lake George, NY, Sherman Saunders of Vernon, VT, Randoll Saunders of Danbury, CT, Dennis Saunders of Waterbury, CT and David Saunders of Cleveland, GA, two sisters, Linda Russo of Medway, MA and Suzette Pelkey of Northfield, CT and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Saturday, June 18 at 11:30 a.m. at New Pine Grove Cemetery, Meriden Rd. in Waterbury, CT.
