TEWKSBURY: Joan Marie (Crossman) White, age 81, a resident of Tewksbury for 38 years, passed away at her home on Monday, June 6, 2016.
She was the beloved wife of 58 years to the late John R. White, who passed away in 2015.
Born in Weymouth on November 28, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Charles W. Crossman and the late Rita (Spillane) Crossman.
Joan was raised in Abington and Whitman, and graduated from Whitman High School.
Prior to her retirement, she worked as a secretary for the Textron Corporation in Wilmington.
Joan was a member of the Tewksbury Golden Age Club, Senior Drop-in-Center and the Tewksbury Red Hat Society.
In recent years, she resided in Vero Beach, FL and returned to Tewksbury in 2015.
She enjoyed dancing, reading, and camping with her family.
Joan is survived by three children, Cheryl A. White, Steven J. White and his wife Lisa, and Lynn M. Bragdon and her husband Gregg; one sister, Janis Tilden and her husband Kenneth; four grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
At the request of the family, services will be private. Interment will be at Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Abington. In lieu of flowers’ donations in her memory may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice. Arrangements entrusted to Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, Tewksbury.
