Janina A. (Hopp) Oliver, 81, of Dartmouth, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, June 7, 2016. She was the wife of the late William Oliver, Jr.
Mrs. Oliver was born in New Bedford, daughter of the late John S. and Alice (Patykula) Hopp and had been a longtime resident of Dartmouth. Prior to her retirement, she worked as a librarian for the Westport Free Public Library. She was a Communicant of St. George Church, Westport, a member of the St. George Womens Guild and was treasurer of the Union St. Jean the Baptist, Westport.
Survivors include her son: William J. Oliver and his companion Lori Blais of Dartmouth; her 3 daughters: Lynne A. Medeiros and her husband Michael of Dartmouth, Karen A. Jeronymo and her husband Richard of New Bedford and Janice A. Burke and her husband Paul of Portsmouth; 1 sister: Anne Hopp of Acushnet; 10 grandchildren; along with several nieces and nephews.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Saturday, June 11, 2016 from the Potter Funeral Home at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. George Church, Westport at 10:00 A.M.
Calling hours will be Friday from 5-8 P.M.
