Florence (Haynes) Saffie age 87 of Lawrence, MA, died Tuesday at the Prescott House in North Andover, MA.
Florence was born in Brooklyn, NY, the daughter of the late Henry and Florence (Schittino) Haynes. She grew up and was educated in Brooklyn, NY. She was a resident of Lawrence, MA for over 50 years.
Florence was a member of St. Anthony’s Maronite Church in Lawrence. She was a homemaker while raising her children, working later in life at Unitrode Corporation in Methuen and Malden Mills in Lawrence. She enjoyed knitting, playing cards with friends and cooking Sunday dinners for her family. Most of all Florence loved being a grandmother and adored her grandchildren and family.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband Abraham Saffie. She was also predeceased by her son Stephen M. Saffie.
She is survived by her children: Mitchell and his wife Lynn Saffie of North Carolina, Gary and his wife Debra Saffie of Dracut, MA, Mark and his wife Milissa Saffie of Methuen, MA, Jeffrey and his wife Tomoko Saffie of Rochester, NH, Gregory and his wife Kathryn Saffie of Sandown, NH, Donna and her husband Frank Giannuzzi of Florida, and Linda and her husband Joseph Ford of Texas.

Calling hours will be held Friday, June 10th from 4-8 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St, Methuen, MA. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, June 11th at 12:30 PM at St. Anthony’s Maronite Church, Lawrence, MA. Burial will follow in St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Methuen, MA.
