Obituary

Everard Norris Dixon, 86, of Carver, Massachusetts died on June 4, 2016 at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. He was born in Boston, Massachusetts on May 17, 1930, to Everard D. Dixon and Vera (Brookes) Dixon, both deceased. He had one brother and three sisters.
He graduated from Northeastern University in 1952 and had a distinguished career as a business manager with the Howard Johnson Company until retiring after 35 years.
He served his country for ten years in the National Guard.
He enjoyed volunteering at the South Shore Hospital and was an avid amateur radio operator. He was an enthusiastic Red Sox fan and enjoyed travelling the country to visit family and friends.
He was the beloved husband of Carol (Redonnet) Dixon for 63 years. He was the brother of Marjorie (Dixon) Bishop (deceased), Dorothy (Dixon) Sharpen (deceased), and Donald Dixon (deceased). He leaves behind a sister, Ruth (Dixon) Harrison; two sons, Bradford Dixon of Franklin, Massachusetts, E. Delroy Dixon II of Plympton, Massachusetts; and three daughters, Karin (Dixon) Huxman of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Shelley Dixon-Williams of Schroon Lake, New York, and Lisa (Dixon) Winders of Plymouth, Massachusetts, along with their spouses. He was the proud and devoted grandfather to 15 and great-grandfather to 15.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral services on Friday June 10th at 11:00AM, in the Hanson Congregational Church, 639 High St., Hanson. Burial will follow in the Northville Cemetery, East Bridgewater. Visitation will be held on Thursday June 9th from 4:00-8:00PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his name to the Hanson Congregational Church, 639 High St., Hanson, MA 02341
