NUEVO, CALIFORNIA – Barbara L.(Judson) Travers., age 88 years , passed away on Sunday May 22, 2016 surrounded by her family and close friends. She was the wife of the late Joseph F. Travers. She was born and raised in New Bedford and was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church, where she was active in the couples club for many years. Mrs. Travers was employed by Sears and Robuck until her retirement to Lady Lake, Fla. And most recently to Nuevo, CA..
She loved to play golf and was a loving wife, mother grandmother and friend to all who knew her. Barbara is survived by her three sons: Steven Travers and his wife Karen of Nuevo, CA., David Travers and his wife Karen of North Hampton, MA and John Travers of New Bedford, MA. She was the sister of Norma Marshall of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and George Taylor of Middleboro, MA. Mrs. Travers was the grandmother of Stacey Milano and Melissa Munoz both of Corona, CA., Nicole Neimeyer of Riverside, CA, .Alex J. Travers of New Bedford, MA. and Kaitlin Travers of North Hampton, MA
Mrs. Travers’ funeral will be held on Saturday June 11, 2016 with a funeral mass at 10 A.M. at Our Lady of Fatima Church in New Bedford, MA. Visiting hours will be Friday evening June 10th from 5 – 7 P.M. Arrangements placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St. New Bedford, Ma 02740.
