Thelma M. Smith, 89, of Anderson, died June 5, 2016 at Community Hospital after a brief illness.
She was born October 13, 1926 in Vincennes, IN to late Hugh Milam and Sylvia (Milam) Carpenter.
She worked production at Delco Remy for 35 to 40 years.
She was a member of Central Wesleyan, A.B.W. A. where she was Working Woman of the Year in 1988 and several organizations with her church. She loved spending time with her family and volunteered as a Pink Lady at Community Hospital.
She is survived by her daughter, Barbara (Dennis W.) Smith of Anderson; two granddaughters, Laura Lynn (fiancé, Lance Adkins) Bryson of Losantville, IN; Leslie Nicole (significant other, Dion Poole) Brown of Indianapolis; five great-grandchildren, Taylor Bryson (fiancé, Deandre Perry); Tylor Bryson; Paris Brown; Trinity Poynter and Megan Smith; great great-granddaughter, Alayah Perry; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, step-brother, Lee Milam and a grandson-in-law, Keith Bryson.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Rev. Richard True officiating with burial following at East Maplewood Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the service at 1 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be given to Alzheimer's Association.
