Pauline C. (Ciampa) Romano of Stoneham died on Sunday, June 5. Born and raised in Avellino, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Giuseppe Ciampa, Clementina Ciampa, and step-father Jerimiah Chiccarello. Pauline came to the U.S. in her teens, living first in Somerville and Medford before settling in Stoneham 40 years ago. She and her beloved husband Harry Romano shared 66 years of marriage.
Pauline was the devoted mother of Joanne Catanzano and her husband Philip of Wakefield, Joseph Romano and his wife Carol of Burlington, Paula Romano of Stoneham, Harry E. Romano and his wife Maria of Medford, James M. Romano and his wife Heather of Westford. She was the loving grandmother of Philip and Christopher Catanzano, Christina and Joseph Romano Jr., Sheila and Dennis Doherty, Elizabeth and Nicholas Romano, Ella and Matty Romano, and the loving great grandmother of Philip Cooke, Larza and Sava Catanzano, Devin, Shyalin and Bailey Doherty, Emily and Kylie Dineen. Pauline was the sister of Mary D'Alelio of Burlington and the late Tony, Domenic, Joseph, Ralph, Angelo and Caroline.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, on Thursday, June 9 at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner St., Medford, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Wednesday, June 8, from 3 through 7 PM. Services will conclude with entombment at Holy Cross Mausoleum, Malden.
