James A. "Jimmy" Fopiano, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life suddenly on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at his home in Charlestown. He was 57 years old.
Jimmy was born in Boston on September 27, 1958, a son of Carolyn (Dunleavy) Fopiano and Edward A. Fopiano. He grew up in Charlestown where he was educated in the Boston Public School system and graduated from Charlestown High School in 1975. Jimmy worked for the City of Boston Housing Authority as a laborer and retired after 29 years of faithful service to the City of Boston. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed boating. Jimmy was a caring person who took great pride at devoting his life unassumingly to caring for his mother and many family members.
Jimmy is the beloved son of Carolyn (Dunleavy) Fopiano and the late Edward A. Fopiano. He is the devoted brother of Edward M. Fopiano and his wife Antonetta of Scituate and the late Mary Anne Fopiano. He is the loving uncle to Jessica, Kristen, Hannah, John, Matteo, Nicky and Julian.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Jimmy's Funeral on Thursday, June 9, 2016 at 9 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by his Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown at 10 A.M. His burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden. Visiting hours will be on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 from 4 to 8 P.M. in the funeral home.
