Augusta, GA – Mrs. Joyce Roberts Greiner, 75, beloved wife of Russell Greiner, entered into rest on Sunday, June 05, 2016 at University Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at Platt’s Belair Road Chapel with Pastor T.F. Yawn officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Zion Congregational Church Cemetery in Gibson, GA.
Joyce retired from the Social Security Administration after 33 years of service. After retiring, she began advocating for those who were trying to navigate the Social Security Disability system. Her passion was helping those in need and she worked tirelessly and vigorously on their behalf. She was a loving and doting wife, mother and grandmother who loved life and always found the silver lining. She loved her friends and enjoyed being active through walking, line dancing and yoga. She lived her Christian beliefs through helping others, showing unmatched compassion, and selflessness. Those who knew her agree that she was even more beautiful inside than out. She will be greatly missed.
In addition to her husband, Joyce is survived by her children, Melanie Harper, Cynthia White (Steve), Michelle R. Kelley (Eddie), Charles C. Roberts, Jr. (Gina), and Deidre Greiner; her brother, Roy Black (Annette); her grandchildren, Meaghan Harper, Jocelyn Millender (John), Brett White (Brianne), Cory Collins (Jenny Kay), Ryan Collins (Carolynn), Ashton Collins, Amie Peace, Todd Lamb (Laura), Zach Lamb, Cameron Lamb, and Katie Greiner; her great-grandchildren, Eli White, Baylor White, Valor Collins, Taylor Masters, Chandler Peace, Ben Lamb, and Callie Lamb; and by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, T.G. and Daisy Cobb Black; and by her sister, Anita Smith Galloway.
Pallbearers will be Cory Collins, Ryan Collins, Brett White, Todd Lamb, Zach Lamb, and Cameron Lamb.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Jan Brown, Sandy Bagwell, Dottie Barton, Susie Stephan, Sandy Leopard, Sheree Wright, Nancy Sickafoose, Lynn Pawlak, Teresa Tiller, Suzi Gilbreath, Ilham Shoukry, Sandy Terronez, Angela Stokes, Caroline Asteff, and Carol Parker.
