Mary Julia Lewis Flowers, 98, of Alapaha, Georgia, died Friday, June 3, 2016, at Berrien Nursing Center in Nashville, Georgia,
Graveside services will be held 2 PM, Sunday, June 5, 2016, at Spring Hill Cemetery, in Irwin County, Georgia, with Dwain Steverson officiating.
Mrs. Flowers was born March 25, 1918, in Alapaha, Georgia, to the late Isaac B. & Sarah Virginia Banks Lewis. Mrs. Flowers retired from Hav-A-Tampa Cigar Company, in Tampa, Florida. Mrs. Flowers was Independent Baptist.
She is survived by her grandson: Dennis Mims of Alapaha; great-grandchildren: Vanessa and Kenneth Nurse of Tampa, Florida and Cassie and Darrell Polk of Brandon, Florida; great-great-grandchildren: Jake Kuhne, Amaya Nurse, Austin Polk, Tyler Polk and Jaden Polk, Delanie Polk, and a daughter-in-law: Dorothy S. Mims of Prairieville, Louisiana. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Garland Walls Flowers, Jr.; a son: Terry Revis Mims; a grandson: Steven Lesley Mims and a twin sister.
