Obituary

Thomas Francis Griffin, 95, of Medway, died Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at the Wayland Nursing and Rehab Center. He was the beloved husband of Madeline Lorraine (Clark) Griffin for 69 years.

Born in South Boston, on January 29, 1921, he was the son of the late John and Elizabeth M. (Hayes) Griffin.

Mr. Griffin was a resident of Medway since 1960, and proudly served in the U.S. Coast Guard during WWII.

Mr. Griffin worked at H.P. Hood for many years before his retirement.

Besides his wife, he is survived by four sons: Thomas F. Griffin, Jr. and his wife, Gladys, of Bellingham, Gerald C. Griffin and his wife, Karen, of Holliston, John J. Griffin and his companion, Susan Censale, of West Yarmouth and Lawrence R. Griffin and his husband, Richard, of Woonsocket, RI and a daughter, Karen E. Smith and her husband, Sam, of Woonsocket.

He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was the brother of the late Matthew and John Griffin and grandfather of the late Sammy Smith.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral from the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin, 131 Main St., Franklin (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) on Monday, June 6th at 9:00 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass at St. Brendan Church, 382 Hartford Ave., Bellingham at 10 a.m.

Burial will follow at Prospect Hill Cemetery in Millis.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 4 - 7 p.m. in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Alzheimer's Association, 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, MA 02472.
