TAUNTON – Mary A. (Ferreira) Borges, wife of the late Daniel A. Borges, died at Mass. General Hospital on May 30, 2016.
She was 78.
Born in Danbury, CT, she was the daughter of the late Antone and Mary (Martin) Ferreira.
Mrs. Borges was a Graduate of Taunton High School’s Class of 1956, and was employed as a secretary for Babs Foundry in Norton for many years as well as Reed & Barton Silversmith and Sheridan Silver. A communicant of St. Anthony Church in Taunton, she was also a member of the Taunton Eagles and the Holy Ghost Society, was an avid reader, had a great love for her family, especially her grandchildren, and loved spending time with her “best friend” Shirley and niece Christina.
She is survived by two sons, Daniel A. Borges and his wife Paula and Michael A. Borges, all of Taunton; one brother, David Ferreira and his wife Barbara of Raynham; a sister, Shirley Pinto and her husband Joe of Taunton; five grandchildren, Jessica, Amanda, Brianna, Daniel and Christian; and one great grandchild, Braylin. She was also the mother to the late Steven Borges.
Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Tuesday, June, 7th at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Anthony Church at 10 a.m. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
