Obituary

Mr. David H. Bernier, formerly of Taunton, died Wednesday, June 1 in St. Luke’s Hospital, New Bedford, following a lengthy illness. He was born 58 years ago in Taunton, the son of the late Felicien and Gertrude (Bernier) Bernier. He was educated in Taunton and was a graduate of the Bristol County Agricultural High School in Dighton. David had been a Taunton resident for most of his life. He was formerly employed as a leveler for Ferguson’s Perforating and Wire Co. in Providence, R.I. for 33 years. He enjoyed model trains, animals, and visiting Foxwoods. He was a communicant of St. Jude the Apostle Parish in Taunton.
He leaves: 5 brothers: Richard Bernier of Taunton, Edouard Bernier of Dighton, Daniel and Paul Bernier, both of Hendersonville, Tn., and Philip Bernier of Calif.; 3 sisters: Lucie Alves and Marie A. Pavao, both of Dighton, and Anita Van Bern of Taunton, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held from The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, on Saturday, June 4 at 10:00 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in St. Jude the Apostle Church at 11:00 A.M. Interment will be in the West Dighton Christian Church Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. A Visiting Hour will be held prior to the funeral, Saturday, from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M
