Obituary

J. Louis ‘Wish” St. Pierre, 69, a former resident of Salem, passed away peacefully at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers on Tuesday, May 31, 2016, following a long illness. He was the devoted husband of the late Constance (Roy) St. Pierre.

Born in Ste. Anne-de-Madawaska, New Brunswick, he was the son of the late Alphee and Methaide (Thibodeau) St. Pierre. Raised in Edmundston, NB, he came to Salem in 1967. Most of his career was working in industrial chimney repairs and cleaning for the Boston Chimney Co. “Wish” retired in 2000 on a disability. In his free time he enjoyed fishing and camping.

He is survived by a son, W. Lee Gentry of Lynn, four daughters, Nancy A. LeBlanc and her husband Mike of Salem, Michelle E. Thompson and her husband Scott of Hewitt, NJ, Nicole L Conway of Salem, Christine J. Perez and her husband Elvis of Peabody, 12 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son, Richard A. St. Pierre.

He also leaves three brothers, Robert St. Pierre of Connecticut, Reno & Jean Paul St. Pierre and six sisters, Alphena Levesque, Diane Levesque, Irene Pelletier, Therese St. Onge, Cecile Gamache and Gisele Babineau all of Canada, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. Salem [Route 114 / 1-A] on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at 9:00 AM to be followed by his funeral mass at 10:00 AM at Ste. Anne Church, 290 Jefferson Ave., Salem. Visiting hours at the funeral home will be on Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Burial will be private.
