Obituary

Paul V. Robillard, 79, of New Bedford died Tuesday May 31, 2016 at home after a long battle with cancer. He was the husband of the late Maryann (Botelho) Robillard.

Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Oliva and Berthe (Meesseman) Robillard, he lived in New Bedford for all of his life.

He was formerly employed by Sunbeam Bakery for many years until his retirement. He also founded and owned Titans Barbell Club in New Bedford in the 1950s.

Paul was a member of the Greater New Bedford Track Club. He was an avid bowler and enjoyed bowling with his team at Wonder Bowl. Paul also enjoyed running, arm wrestling, and watching the Boston Red Sox, his favorite team. A very generous man, he took pride in giving to many different charities.

Survivors include a son, Paul A. Robillard of New Bedford; a daughter, Paula Waters and her husband Christopher, of New Bedford; a son-in-law, John Aguiar of New Bedford; two grandchildren, Tiffany (Aguiar) Gurn and Brandon Medeiros; and three great-grandchildren, Erica, Elizabeth and Ethan Gurn.

He was the father of the late David Robillard and Brenda Aguiar.

His Funeral will be held on Monday June 6, 2016 at 9 AM from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, followed by his Funeral Service at Hope Evangelical Community Church, 88 Hathaway Rd., Dartmouth at 10 AM.
