Robert Adrian “Bob” Norcross, Sr., 91, of Methuen, Massachusetts passed away on Tuesday, May 31st, 2016 at the Nevins Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Methuen, MA.
He was born on April 10th, 1925 at the Lawrence General Hospital in Lawrence, MA. Son of the late Adrian Norcross and Rose (LeDuc) Norcross. Bob attended Methuen Schools, including Edward F. Searles High School. He served in the United States Army during WWII in the Pacific Theatre and was honorably discharged. After the war he attended the Saunders Radio and TV School.
After graduating he worked for Nesmith TV, then K&N Sales and service where he joined his parents in running their appliance store. After the passing of his father he and his wife founded Norcross Refrigeration service which they ran together until their retirement.
In 1957 he married Olive I. Murray who predeceased him in 1995. Robert and his wife Olive attended Saint Augustine's Church in Lawrence, MA. (on Tower Hill).
He enjoyed a life time of fishing and hunting. He was an avid CB radio enthusiast and was devoted to his many dogs over the years.
He will be sadly missed by his two children and their families, Robert and Debbie of Dracut, Chris and Kelly of Methuen, MA.
Grandchildren: Robert Norcross III of Mansfield, MA, Julie Butler of Milford, MA, Heather Norcross Geoffroy of Boscowan, NH, Ryan Norcross of Methuen, Christopher Norcross, Jr. of Portsmouth, VA, Jonathan Norcross of Palatka, FL., Owen Norcross of Methuen, and Liam Norcross of Methuen, MA.
He also leaves behind 8 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may call on Friday, June 3rd, 2016, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 122 Amesbury Street, Lawrence, MA. His funeral service will follow at the Elmwood Cemetery in Methuen, MA.
