Barbara E. Hedden, 92, of Brentwood, NH, passed away Sunday May 29, 2016, in Rockingham County Nursing Home in Brentwood. Barbara was born in Waldoboro, ME on October 4, 1923, a daughter of the late Blaine H. and Margaret (Orff) Swift. Barbara was a US Navy veteran, having served in the WAVES during WWII as a Pharmacist's Mate. She worked as a nurse for most of her life.
She is survived by two sons, John A. Swift of Londonderry, NH and Charles W. Swift of Camden ME; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Carlton S. Hedden and her four brothers, Theodore, William, Richard, and Chester.
Calling hours were held on Thursday, June 2, 2016 from 10 to 11am in the Peabody funeral Homes & Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd. Londonderry, NH. Funeral services followed at 11am. The burial will be held at a later date.
