Donald Peter “Zeke” Scesny, 76, of Clinton, died Monday May 30th surrounded by his loving family at UMASS Memorial Medical Center, Memorial Campus in Worcester.
He leaves his beloved wife Cynthia A. (Nowick-Unklesbay) Scesny of Clinton.
Donald was born in Clinton, son of the late Walter “Whitey” Scesny and Mildred (O’Malley) Scesny. He was raised in Stow where attended local schools including the former Hale High School in Stow. He was a lifelong farmer and owned and operated Ravenswood Farm in Lancaster and later the Haycrest Farm in Berlin. He was fortunate to do what he loved most and often said he was the “luckiest man on earth”.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Walter “Ted” Scesny of Clinton, Mary Beth “Betsy” (Scesny) West and her husband Kevin of Clinton, James Scesny and his wife Janice of Clinton and Donald Scesny and his wife Donna of Fitchburg. He is also survived by his 11 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren and the 4th on the way; his siblings, William Scesny, Dorothy Scesny of the Sisters of the Presentation, Peggy Yesue, Alice Palmer and Veronica Tucker along with his many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his two brothers, Walter and Thomas Scesny and was the former husband of the late Sandy Winchester of Marlboro and Joyce (Fitzgerald) Scesny of Leominster.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 4th at 10:00 a.m. in the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749 (www.tighehamilton.com). Burial services will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Stow. Calling hours will be held on Friday, June 3rd from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
