Martinez, GA---Ellen Lewis Fountain went to meet her Lord and Savior, on May 29, 2016 at Trinity Hospital of Augusta, following a long illness.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, June 2, 2016, at Bellevue Memorial Gardens, Grovetown, GA, with Trinity Hospice Chaplain Tom Kolliokoski officiating.
Ellen was very much adored, by the people she helped, loved and admired in the Augusta area and surrounding communities. She had a great, God given, talent for making flower arrangements. She also worked as a dispatcher at the Edgefield Water Department. She called her crew “Her Boy’s”.
She was preceded in death by her husband of Johnston, SC, Oleo Fountain and her close friend, Brian Dubose.
Ellen is survived by her son, Sgt. James Clayton Hillis III, his wife Candace and daughter, Oakley Grace, her daughter, Allison Elizabeth Smith and her partner, Mark Cosby, her parents, Jim and Bunny Lewis of Evans, GA, her two sisters, Shelly Thorpe and husband, Todd and their four children, Jackson, Reagan, Kennedy and Davis and Emily Higgins, her husband, Andy and their two children, Drew and Reeves, her brother, John S. Lewis, his wife, Kyra and their two children, Emma Claire and Carson and Ellen’s many friends. She is leaving behind her two closest companions, Sassy and Buster who were always by her side and her much loved mentor, Mary Byrd of Evans, GA.
No visitation is scheduled. Flowers will be accepted.
