Obituary



James L. Chin of Brockton, died peacefully on Sunday, May 29, 2016 at St. Joseph’s Manor Nursing Home, after a long illness.

He was the husband of Ann W. H. (Lee). They celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary on May 19, 2016.

James was born on December 19, 1926 in Guangdong, China. He was the son of the late Henry Gee and Yen Hou Chin. He came to Brockton at the age of twelve, after the death of his mother.

In 1949, James returned to China and married Ann. Together they operated Jimmy’s Laundry in the Campello section of Brockton for over fifty years. In 2000, shortly after their retirement, James and Ann were recognized by the 21st Century Corporation of Brockton for their commitment to the city of Brockton.

James was a longtime member of the Lee Family Association of New England and was a respected elder of the Lee Family. He enjoyed spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife, James is survived by a son: Hon. Richard Chin and his wife June of Brockton and a daughter, Atty. Barbara Chin Kehoe and her husband Atty. E. Christopher Kehoe of Hingham. He is also survived by his four granddaughters: Laurie M. Sayres and her husband Atty. Joel Sayres of Superior, Colorado, Jamie L. Chin and her husband Cory McArthur of North Easton, Christin Kehoe of Hingham, and Kerin Kehoe of New York, N.Y.

Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton on Friday 4-7pm. Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday at 10am followed by burial at Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater.
