TAUNTON – Jose C. Bota, husband of Maria A. (Linguica) Bota for 46 years, died at Morton Hospital surrounded by his family on May 30, 2016. He was 70.
Born in Sao Miguel, Acores, he was the son of the late Jose and Maria (de Melo) Bota.
Jose was employed at Reed & Barton Silversmiths as a buffer for many years. An avid communicant of St. Anthony Church of Taunton, he loved gardening and spending time with his family.
Besides his wife Maria, he leaves two sons, Filipe M. Costa and his wife Maria of Taunton and Nuno A. Costa and his wife Christina also of Taunton; two brothers, Joao Bota and his wife Stephane of Taunton and Virginio Bota and his wife Luisa of Canada; one sister, Donatilde Boera of Sao Miguel, Acores; three grandchildren, Shawn, Kyle and Nathan Costa; and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother to the late Sergio Bota.
His funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Friday, June 3rd at 8 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Anthony Church at 9 a.m. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, June 2nd from 4 to 7 p.m.
