Obituary

Belmont, NH----- Marilyn Cole Lawrence, 80, formerly of Wallingford, CT died unexpectedly at Lakes Region Hospital, Laconia, NH on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 with family and friends at her side.

Born in New Haven CT on November 4, 1935, she was the daughter of Clemence and Anna Cole (Hilsenbeck) of Short Beach, CT. Marilyn was married to the late George “Skip” Lawrence of Hamden, CT for over 50 years. They resided in Wallingford for over 30 years. She was employed by George Duffy, CPA in Wallingford prior to her work for several years as an office manager for Mark-Lynn Site Contractors Inc. Cheshire, CT. Upon her retirement they moved to NH.

Marilyn enjoyed her 15 years of retirement in the Great Brook Village Community of Belmont, NH. She was a parishioner at St. Joseph Parish, Belmont. She was an enthusiastic reader, well known to the local swim club community and a faithful supporter of the Interlakes Summer Theatre.

Marilyn will be missed by her three daughters and sons in law: Robin and Stephan Jones of Barrington, NH; Christine and Brian Scilzo of Manchester, MI; and Tracy and Timothy Yackey of Albuquerque, NM. She also leaves 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Marilyn is survived by her sister Gayle Battis of Englewood, FL; sister and brother in law, Judith and Brian Knecht of Albuquerque, NM; predeceased by her youngest sister Ann Millspaugh.

There will be no calling hours.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Parish, 96 Main Street, Belmont, NH 03220.

Graveside services will be held at St. Lawrence Cemetery, West Haven, CT at noon on Wednesday, June, 15, 2016.
