Mary Savanna “Sarah” Colvin Lindsey, 61, of Tifton passed away Monday, May 30, 2016, at Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare in Tallahassee, Florida. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 2, 2016, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with VFW Chaplain Jim Atkins and the Rev. Steve Tucker officiating. Mrs. Lindsey will be laid to rest at a later date. The family will receive friends Thursday, June 2, 2016, from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the service at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Born January 19, 1955 in Monticello (Jefferson County), Florida, Mrs. Lindsey was the daughter of Flora Mae Dickerson Colvin of Crawfordville, Florida and the late Dan Oscar Colvin. In addition to her father, she was also preceded in death by a daughter, Kay Ellen Langston. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. She loved to play Bingo at the VFW, loved to bake and was known for her pound cakes. She had lived in Tifton for the past ten years.
In addition to her mother, Mrs. Lindsey is survived by her husband, Curtis Lindsey, Jr. of Tifton; one son, Grayson Leland Langston and his fiancé, Denise Heuring of Crawfordville, Florida; a step-daughter and her husband, Beth and Jeff Holloway of Tifton; a step-son, Kenny Lindsey of San Bernardino, California; three brothers and one sister-in-law, Henry and Linda Colvin and Thomas Colvin, all of Boston, Georgia and Richard Colvin of Milledgeville; a sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and Charles Duncan of Crawfordville, Florida; and six grandchildren, Laila, Conner, Kayli, Ryan, Shawn and Kristen.
