Ana Yolande Salo died peacefully in her sleep on May 29, 2016.
Yolande was born on July 8, 1929 in Manhattan, New York city, the daughter of Manuel Jesus Jarrin of Quito, Ecuador and Anita Vallis Jarrin of Baltimore Maryland. She was educated in New York City public schools and was a student at Julliard school of music in her teen years. Her younger years included multiple trips to Quito, Ecuador where she enjoyed year-long stays at the family farm known as San Jose. While there she attended school, acquiring the ability to speak fluent Spanish.
Yolande’s first marriage was to Edward Constanty with whom she had two sons, Edward Jr. and David. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Edward, a son, Edward Jr, and a sister, Diana.
Though a gifted violinist and trained in classical music, Yolande enjoyed all forms of music. She enjoyed a successful career as an executive secretary with Technicon, in Terrytown, NY. She was known by all as a skilled communicator, able to speak to those in all walks of life. When she and Fred married in 1974, she left the corporate world as they built a successful business as landscape contractors, owner of flower shops, and eventually developing and owning a Christmas tree farm in Stannard, VT.
Yolande was very kind and considerate, always treating others the way she wanted others to treat her.
Aunt Yolande will be greatly missed by her husband of 41 years, Fred, son David (Cheryl) Constanty, step-children Fred, Jr (Marci) Salo and Lynn (Doug) Wood, a sister June, a brother, Buddy, an uncle, Andy Vallis, five grandchildren, two great grandchildren, along with nieces, nephews and their children.
To honor her life and memory, family and friends will gather at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Chester, VT at 11:AM on Friday, June 17,2016.
