Adreach (Irene) Saccuzzo, age 106 passed away on May 27, 2016. Irene as she was known, was born in Lawrence on January 16, 1910 to the late Fred and Antoinette (Colapietra) Champey. She was the youngest girl of 7 children. Irene was educated in Methuen. At an early age she went to work in various shoe mills in Lawrence to help support her family. She also worked at the Tyer Rubber Co. and Western Electric (Lucent Technologies) in North Andover where she retired at the age of 62. In her earlier years, Irene met and later married her late husband Salvatore (Mike) Saccuzzo with whom she shared 63 wonderful years of marriage. At the age of 21, Irene and Mike went on to have three children.
Irene enjoyed being a wife and mother, and cooking for her family making her traditional Italian meals. She enjoyed traveling the U.S. and Europe with her husband. Irene also enjoyed going to the casinos in Connecticut, playing 45’s weekly, and dancing. Irene loved to dress up, often modeling locally and in New York. Another hobby Irene enjoyed was crocheting for her children, grandchildren and other family members. She also loved her daughter’s beach house, where all her family and friends would come to visit.
Irene leaves her son Ron Saccuzzo, daughter Gail L. Frasca and her husband Arthur J., and her daughter in-law Dorothy Saccuzzo. She also leaves 5 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. Irene was predeceased by her husband Mike Saccuzzo, son Robert Saccuzzo and grandson Chris Dale Saccuzzo.

Friends and guests are invited to call on Thursday, June 2, 2016 from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St. Methuen. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home immediately following calling hours. Interment to follow at West Parish Cemetery of Andover.
