DIGHTON - George L. Goulart, Sr. of Dighton, died on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at Life Care Center of Raynham. He was 91.
George was the beloved husband of the Laura C. (Constantine) Goulart, for over 67 years.
Born in Dighton, he was the son of the late Manuel and Mary (Gracia) Goulart.
Before retirement in 1989, Mr. Goulart was employed with Texas Instruments in Attleboro as a trouble shooter for over 30 years. George served his country during WWII with the US Navy. He enjoyed helping his family, was an avid golfer and was a member of the Dighton Police Association.
Besides his loving wife Laura, George is survived by a son, George L. Goulart, Jr. of Dighton; two daughters, Sharon M. Lewis of Taunton and Debra A. Fernandes and her husband Ronald of Tequesta, FL; two brothers, Edward Goulart of Tamarac, FL and John Goulart of N. Dighton; and a sister, Margaret Souza. George was the grandfather of Brad, Ronald and Jocelyn and great-grandfather of Sawyer, Connor, Harbor and Haven. He was also the grandfather of the late Joshua Lewis and brother of the late Mary Keating, Helen Costa, and Joseph Goulart.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 2nd at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick Church, 306 South St. in Somerset. Interment with military honors will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery, Somerset.
Calling hours will be held at the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Wednesday, June 1st from 4 to 7 p.m.
