Virginia DiGiammerino passed away at the Sawtelle Family Hospice House on May 28, 2016. She was 97 years old.
Virginia was a lifelong resident of Malden. She worked at the Charlestown Navy Yard during WWII and worked many years in the cafeteria at the Glennwood School in Malden. Virginia was also a proud supporter of the 83rd Infantry Division Association.
Virginia was the devoted wife of the late Pat DiGiammerino. She was the beloved mother of Paul DiGiammerino of Malden, David DiGiammerino and his wife Mary Ann of Medway, and Gary DiGiammerino and his wife June of Tewksbury. Virginia was the dear sister of Ronald Gaetani and the late Louise Iafallo, and Francis, Arthur, Henry and Robert Gaetani. She was the cherished grandmother of Janelle Sherry and her husband Tim, Mark DiGiammerino and his wife Hang, and Jill, Jenna, Thea, and Cristen DiGiammerino. She is also survived by her best friend Ann Sbraccia.
A service will be held from the A. J. Spadafora Funeral Home 865 Main Street, Malden on Wednesday June 1st at 10:00a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 3-7p.m. Entombment will be in Holy Cross Mausoleum, Malden.
