Dorothy (Donabedian) Maynard, age 84, died peacefully, on Friday, May 17, 2002 at the Wingate Nursing Home in Reading after a lengthy illness.
She was born in Worchester on September 14, 1917 to the late Melkon and Esther (Najarian) Donabedian. She was a Medford resident, graduating Medford High School, Class of 1935, until she moved to Melrose in 1989. She married the late Thomas W. Maynard on December 24, 1952 at Medford City Hall.
She was active involved at Wingate Nursing Home, acting as President of Residence Council. Her other interests include gardening, theater, arts, music, and travel. During her husbands military career they lived in various places, including Hawaii for several years. Dorothy took great pride in her grandchildren and spending time with them.
Besides her beloved husband, she leaves one cherished daughter, Donna M. and her husband Timothy J. Dunn of Andover. She is the loving grandmother of Christopher and Nicole Dunn, both of Andover, Renee Dunn of Durham, N.H., and Jonathan Dunn of Buffalo, N.Y. Devoted sister of Agnes Mazmanian, Paris Hertigan, Rose Vartanian and the late Sarkis Donabedian. Dear aunt of June Servidio of Arlington and Rose Guzzetti and several other nieces and nephews.
