Melvin B. Lucas, III of Dartmouth, passed away on Friday, May 27, 2016 at Tufts Medical Center following a brief illness. He was the beloved son of Melvin B. and Louella L. (Valerio) Lucas, Jr. of Dartmouth.
Melvin was born on October 25, 1980 and was a 1998 graduate of Dartmouth High School. He went on to graduate from UMASS Amherst in the Golf Turf Management Course. He first worked as golf superintendent at River Oaks Golf Course in Sherman, CT where he helped with construction and a very successful grow-in. He then worked for the Badin Inn Resort and Golf Course in Badin, NC where he aided in the restoration of their 1920's golf course. Most recently, Melvin worked at and tended the green at Kings Crossing Golf Club in N. Kingstown, RI.
Survivors along with his parents include his brother: Richard Bauer of Stonington, CT.
Private interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
