Obituary

FALL RIVER - Brendon Garcia, age 21, a lifelong resident of Fall River, left this earth much too soon surrounded by family and friends on May 24, 2016. He was a graduate of B.M.C Durfee High School, a parishioner of Santo Cristo Church and a carver at Boston Market. But Brendon was so much more than this; let us tell you about our sweet Brendon.
Brendon was an amazing father to his son Benjamin W. Garcia. He was so young when Benny was born many worried about him. As it turns out, Brendon was a natural father, strong, kind, adoring and willing to make any sacrifice to be the best Daddy. Benny adored his father but respected him when Brendon would parent him.
Brendon was always a devoted son to his parents Carlos Garcia and Claudia (Branco) Garcia; he loved them and never gave them a moment’s worry. He was a protective and kind brother to Gavin Garcia and Zoe Garcia who took care of them through good times and bad. He was a blessed grandson to Basilio Garcia, Leonel Branco and Maria Branco. Brendon will be laid to eternal rest in the arms of his cherished grandmother Mary Fatima Garcia. Fatima and Brendon shared a special bond, her first grandchild; a love so pure she would hold it dear until her passing. Benjamin’s mother Brittany Pereira and her family survives him. Additionally he graced the lives of his godparents, uncles, aunts, cousins and friends too numerous to name, but each one holds a piece of him in their hearts. He was the glue that brought together the Garcia, Branco and Pereira families, who now vow to always be here for our precious Benny.

Brendon had a heart of gold and the kindest soul of anyone we ever met and made family his first priority. He loved spending time with all his family and he included everyone never leaving anyone to feel left out. He was a cherished family member; whom aunts and uncles say was always willing to help at every family event or project. He appreciated every blessing he received, never asking for anything for himself. He was respectful and polite of his elders, always willing to listen to their words of wisdom. No one ever had anything bad to say about him.

Brendon was always there to give his siblings, cousins and friends advice. His cousins were his best friends. Joyfully they recall he always thought of something they could do, like good old-fashioned games. He'd make them play cops and robbers or hide and seek, and he was always making jokes. He never liked being bored and is remembered as being good at pretty much everything he tried. They could tell him their biggest secrets and trust him with them. He was such a loyal person, most especially with his family.

Brendon loved sports; most especially the San Francisco 49er’s and Benfica. Video games and music helped him those days when he just needed to relax. He is remembered dirt bike riding and paintballing when he was younger. At the drag strip screaming “flush that toilet” when a mustang came to the line, then came his love of VWs. He loved random after 9pm ice cream rides to Simcock Farms, evening campfires and nights in the hot tub.

Everyone he touched will miss Brendon; none of us will ever forget his favorite SF beanie and his signature line, "Aye guy!"
