Josephine (Cantalupo) Sutera of Chester, New Hampshire, died on Monday, May 23. Born and raised in the North End and East Boston, she was the daughter of the late Alessio and Jennie (Fortunato) Cantalupo. Josephine was a longtime Medford resident, moving to New Hampshire four years ago.
She was the beloved wife of the late Leonard Sutera, and the devoted mother of Debra Marks and her late husband Joseph of Chester, NH, Michele DelSignore and her husband John of Reading, Robin Carney and her husband Philip, and Lori Sutera and her companion Joseph Sabatino, all of Chester, NH. Josephine was the loving grandmother of Joseph, Philip, Nicholas, Lauren, Krista, Nicole and Jacob. She was the loving great grandmother of Gianna, Isabella and Angelo, and the cherished sister of the late Louis "Butchie" Cantalupo. Josephine is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and beloved dog Dudley.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Saturday, May 28, at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 441 Fellsway West, Medford, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Friday, May 27, from 4 through 8 PM. Interment will be private.
