Alice “Peggy” (Robertson) Downey, 65, of Norton formerly of Walpole, died May 24 in Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. She was the wife of the late Allen Downey.
Born in Norwood, October 27,1950, the daughter of the late Alexander and Alice (LaLiberty) Robertson, Mrs. Downey had lived in Walpole for many years and had lived in Norton for the past 3 years.
Peggy had worked in the deli section of the Mansfield Stop & Shop and previously worked at Graphic Images in Plainville.
She loved to garden and be with her grandchildren.
Peggy is survived b her daughters, Lisa M. Sheedy and her husband Daniel of Norton and Pamela A. Downey and her fiancé Nicholas Ranaldi of Wolfeboro, New Hampshire.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, Matthew, Reed, Alison, Julian, Melanie and Mia.
Peggy is also survived by her brother Alexander L. Robertson, Jr. of Glen St. Mary, Florida and Dorothy Robinson of Satsuma, Florida. She was the sister of the late
Paula Miller, Kenneth Robertson and James Robertson.
Her funeral service will be held on Friday, May 27 in the Ginley Funeral Home (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 892 Main Street, Walpole at 11:00 a.m.
Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, South Walpole.
Visiting hours will be on Thursday from 5-8 p.m.
