Jose E. Cabral, 87, of Hudson, died on Monday, May 23rd surrounded by his loving family at Marlboro Hospital. He was the beloved husband of 58 years to the late Maria A. (Soares) Cabral who died in 2009.
Jose was born and raised in Santa Maria, Azores of Portugal, son of the late Jose J. and Maria G. (Santos) Cabral. He resided in Portugal until emigrating to Hudson in 1976. He was employed as a machine operator by Middlesex Research Company in Hudson for many years until his retirement. He was a member of Saint Michael’s Parish in Hudson.
Jose was a dedicated worker and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially with all his loving grandchildren and adoring great grandchildren. He looked forward to playing cards with family and friends and being outdoors tending to his garden. He will be truly missed.
He is survived by his children, Alfred S. Cabral and his wife Maria, Maria P. Resendes and her husband Agostinho, Jose A. Cabral and his fiancé Ida Resendes, Valeriana S. Terra and her husband Manuel and Joao S. Cabral and his wife Olga, all of Hudson. He is also survived by his 12 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Antonio and Manuel Cabral and Maria Santos.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, May 27th at 9:00 a.m. in Saint Michael’s Church, 21 Manning Street, Hudson. Burial will follow in Saint Michael’s Cemetery, Hudson. Family and friends may attend calling hours on Thursday, May 26th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749.
