Gerard H. Godin, 57, of Newport, died May 22, 2016 in Trinity Health Center. Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Gerard Godin and the late Gloria (L’Hereux) Godin and the late Joseph and Elvira (Mare) Matose III.
Gerard was a cook in several restaurants in Newport where he lived his entire life.
He was survived by five brothers, Dominic and Joseph Godin of Woonsocket, Robert Matose of Middletown, Joseph Matose of Portsmith and Gene Matose of TX, and two sisters, Evelyn Caya of Manville and Audre Skakoon of AZ. He was pre-deceased by his siblings Donna, Clara, Maurice, Richard, Walter, and Gerald W. Godin.
A Committal Service will be held on Thursday, May 26 at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Wrentham Rd, Bellingham.
