John A. Taylor, Jr., 69, passed away on Wednesday, May 18, 2016. He was the husband of Toni A. (Rosinha) Taylor for 47 years. Son of the late Gertrude H. (Waite) Taylor and John A. Taylor, Sr.
Father of son, John A. Taylor, III and a daughter, Trudy W. Taylor Lawrence and her husband David. A proud grandfather of 3, Christinia Lawrence, Taylor Lawrence and Tucker Lawrence. He leaves a sister, Lynn Moriaty and her husband Tom, he was also the brother of the late Norman Taylor and several nieces and nephews. John was a highly talented auto and marine mechanic, owning and operating Taylor's Garage. He was a proud lifelong resident of Westport and loved town politics which was very apparent, as he served as a Westport Town Selectman and was on the Board of Directors of the Westport Taxpayers Association. He served as President of Westport Lion's Club during one of their most successful years.
John was a self-taught guitar and harmonica player. He and Toni traveled yearly to Blue Grass festivals up and down the coast of Maine, singing together.
At John's request, his services will be private.
