Margaret M. (Carbone) Antonelli of Andover died on Monday, May 23, at Academy Manor Nursing Home of Andover. Born and raised in Boston's North End, she was the daughter of the late Martin and Rose (Manupelli) Carbone. Margaret was a longtime resident of Medford before moving to Andover seven years ago.
Margaret was the beloved wife of the late Harry Antonelli, and the devoted mother of Margaret A. "Peg" Mottola and her husband Phil of Stoneham, Robert F. Antonelli and his wife Patricia "Patsy" of Billerica, AnneMarie Roche and her husband Bob of Burlington, Edward P. Antonelli of North Andover, and the late Stephen M. Antonelli. She was the loving grandmother of Diane, Sue, Michele, Karyn, Robert, Brittany, Michael and Nicholas, and the loving great grandmother of Tyler, Paige, Nathan, Grace, Ava, Braedyn, Christopher, Kaitlyn and Alana.
Margaret was an incredible cook and seamstress, making everything from pizza and chocolate chip cookies to curtains and wedding dresses. She never drove a car but traveled extensively by bus and train, and loved to shop at Filene's Basement. Faith was paramount in her life and she would be best described as "humble."
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Thursday, May 26, at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High St., Medford, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Wednesday, May 25, from 4 through 8 PM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
