Catherine E. (Boulay) Franco, age 69, of Dayville, CT, formerly of Norton passed away on Sunday, May 22, 2016 at the Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam, CT.
She was the beloved wife of the late James C. Franco, Jr. who died on March 7, 1989.
Born in Attleboro, MA on April 15, 1947, she was a loving daughter of the late Normand and Edith (Rich) Boulay.
Cathy grew up and was educated in Norton. She had made her home in Dayville for the past six years.
Prior to retiring, Mrs. Franco had been employed as a Quality Control Inspector at Grainger’s in Franklin for ten years and previously for many years at the former Texas Instruments in Attleboro.
Along with her family, Cathy attended St. Mary’s Church in Norton. Her family was truly the focal point of her life, especially her adoring grandchildren and she was thrilled at the recent birth of her first great grandchild. She also enjoyed cookouts, and watching and feeding the hummingbirds that visited her yard.
She is survived by her devoted children Tammy L. Mihm and her husband Michael of Dayville, CT, James C. Franco, III of Rehoboth and Normand J. Franco of Wood River, IL. She was the cherished grandmother of Ashley, James, IV, Lindsey, Gabrielle and Cathy, and the great grandmother of Connor. She was the dear sister of Tina Macomber of PA, Gerald Boulay and Rose Simpson both of Attleboro, Roger Boulay of ME and the late Linda Ullman.
Her funeral, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Friday, May 27th at 9:00 A.M. from the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp St. (Off Route 140, Taunton Ave.) Norton followed by a Mass of Christian burial celebrated at 10:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church, 1 Power St., Norton. Burial will follow at the Timothy Plain Cemetery in Norton.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, May 26th from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home.
Cathy’s family has requested that those attending her services to please dress in bright colors.
