Obituary


WINDHAM - Norman L. Gay, 72, passed from this life to a better place May 22, 2016. He was born Sept. 22, 1943, to Solomon and Glenna Gay. He graduated from South Paris High School and later joined the Navy, serving on the Air Craft Carrier USS Wasp and operated the catapult system. Norman worked construction for many years and installed flooring. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and doing projects around the house. He loved the Red Sox, Patriots and hearing the national anthem.He was predeceased by his parents; and his brother Harlan Gay. He leaves Phyllis Gay, his ex-wife and best friend; as well as four sons, Eric (Heather) of Falmouth, Mark (Robin) of Brunswick, Brian (Susan) of Gorham and Adam (Deanna) of South Portland. He is survived by siblings Eleanor Tracy (Ted) of Wiscasset, Eloise April (John) of New Hampshire, Emilie Newell (Dan) of Bowdoinham and Richard Gay (Jeri) of Florida; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandson. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
