Obituary

William (Bill) C. Fraser, of West Roxbury, and previously Jamaica Plain and East Boston, died peacefully on May 19 after a brief illness. Bill was the son of the late William C. Fraser and Margaret (Angel) Fraser of Boston. Bill is survived by his wife of 49 years, Barbara J. (Madden) Fraser, their daughters Kim A. Fraser of West Roxbury and Andrea J. (Fraser) Mealey and her husband James of Wellesley, and from his first marriage, a son William E. Fraser of California and a daughter, Patricia (Fraser) Heifetz of Canton. Bill also is survived by his grandchildren Lauren and Colin Mealey, his brother Leo Fraser and his wife Lucy, and many loving nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Bill was a U.S. Navy Veteran, having served on the USS St. Paul in World War II. He was also a Boston Police Officer for 30 years and retired from the police force in 1984. Bill enjoyed fishing and camping and later in life took great pride in reuniting with the Navy veterans with whom he served.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a mass of Christian burial celebrated at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 14 Montebello Rd, Jamaica Plain on May 26 at 10 a.m. All are invited to a luncheon after the service.
