FALL RIVER… Howard E. Borden, Jr.,84, of Westport passed away, Sunday, May 22, 2016.
He was the widower of Rita (Dumaine) Borden.
Howard was born in Fall River a son of the late Howard E. and Hazel (Shurtleff) Borden and had lived most of his life in Westport.
He was a communicant of St. Bernadette’s Parish in Fall River. He was employed as a computer supervisor at the Department of Administration with the State of Rhode Island, retiring in 1990 after 30 years.
Mr. Borden was a Fourth Degree Knight with the St. Isadore the Farmer chapter of the Knights of Columbus formerly of Westport and enjoyed golf, woodworking, and outdoor work. Everyone that knew Howard knew how much of a gentleman he was.
Survivors include 2 nieces and 1 nephew. He was the brother of the late Barbara A. Naylor.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Thursday, May 26, 2016 at 9AM from the SOUTH COAST FUNERAL HOME, 1555 Pleasant Street, Fall River followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at St. Bernadette’s Parish, 529 Eastern Ave. Fall River. Interment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 5 - 8 PM.
