Rhett T. Irwin, 46, of Carrolton passed away Thursday, May 19, 2016, at Tanner Medical Center in Villa Rica. His funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, May 22, 2016, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with Rev. Steve Tucker officiating. Mr. Irwin will be laid to rest at a later date. The family will receive friends Sunday, May 22, 2016, from 3:00 p.m. until the hour of the service at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Born October 21, 1969 in Tifton, Mr. Irwin was the son of William Paul Irwin, Jr. of Jacksonville, Florida and Sharon McMillan Curry of Tifton. He graduated from Tift County High School in 1988. He loved horses and was a trainer and horse stable manager. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and an avid NASCAR fan.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Irwin is survived by his fiancé, Cyndi Davis of Carrolton; his step-father, Steve Curry of Tifton two sons and a daughter-in-law, Carey Irwin of Tifton and Dax Irwin and Jewell Pope of Hahira; a daughter and son-in-law, Kayla Maran and Rene Clark of Statesboro; a sister and brother-in-law, Nicole and Jerrod Knapp of Newnan; five grandchildren, Laura Grace, Ella, Wade, Russ and Erron; his extended family, Rebekah Davis, Jeremy and Abby Estes and Rusty and D.C. Davis, all of Carrolton; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
