Roberta Goodhue Wetmore passed away peacefully on May 16, 2016 at the age of 97, surrounded by loved ones.
Roberta will live in our hearts and minds as a sharp-witted, devoted secretary who, until the end, still wrote notes in her beloved shorthand.
An avid lover of tennis, she could have bested any of us, and her ability and skills garnered her the New Bedford Tennis Championship.
A graduate of Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School, Roberta was employed as legal secretary for Fisher Abramson and Robert Genensky, and was active in the Quota Club.
Roberta is the widow of the late Edward V.T. Wetmore who died serving his country in 1943. She is survived by cousins Jack Dixon and Florence Prince and many friends and caregivers who loved her.
In accordance with her wishes, there will be no service. Memorial donations may be made in her name to The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ Scientist, 250 Mass. Ave., Boston, MA. 02115.
