Obituary

Andre D. "Andy" Thibodeau III, age 39, of Dartmouth, died unexpectedly Friday, May 13, 2016. He was the loving husband of Julienne (Bourgeois) Thibodeau and father to Jacqueline (12), Andrea (10), and the late Andre D. Thibodeau IV, all of Dartmouth. He was the son of Nancy (Mosher) Thibodeau and Andre D. Thibodeau Jr., both of Dartmouth.

Andy was born and raised in Dartmouth but also had a special place in his heart for the mountains and trails of northern New Hampshire. His fondest memories were of trips to the cabin, out riding snowmobiles and quads deep in the woods; where he felt most at home. He also spent many adventures on his boat exploring the ocean with his 1st mate Cuppy. Andy was a 1994 graduate of Dartmouth High School where he played varsity football. He enjoyed his work as a Survey Party Chief for Gorodetsky Engineering. Andy was a great listener and confidant. He was always enjoyable company to be around and had a wealth of knowledge to share on many interesting topics. His kind heart and approachable personality will be remembered by all who were lucky enough to be considered a friend. His mother especially will miss the special bond the two of them shared as best friends.

From an early age, Andy was a car fanatic. Learning from his grandfather, he dreamed of opening a car restoration business someday. Always one to be hands on; his enthusiasm for fast rides and mechanics crossed into motorcycles and quad bikes. Andy also loved the outdoors and spent lots of time at the Fox and Coon Club for skeet and target shooting. He enjoyed expanding his knife collection and appreciated all genres of music. Andy especially loved teaching his daughters to fish and competing in fishing tournaments with them. Andy and his wife Julie were best friends for 25 years and married for 13 years. Their fun, spontaneous adventures created lasting family memories for the love of his life and their girls.
Andy is survived by his wife, Julie; his daughters, Jacqueline and Andrea; his mother, Nancy Thibodeau and her partner Russell Hiksdal; his father, Andy Thibodeau and his wife Wendy; his maternal grandmother, Nancy Mosher; his aunt Jane Raczka and her husband Stephen, all of Dartmouth; his uncles, Paul Thibodeau and Gary Foley, both of Westport; his in-laws, James and Anne Roach of Dartmouth; his sister-in-law, Jaime McNealley and her husband Shawn; two Goddaughters, Katherine and Elizabeth McNealley; a nephew, Matthew McNealley; his great aunt, Diane LeBoeuf; his great uncle, Anthony Dutra and his wife Carol; many special cousins; and his childhood friend Steve "Muffy" Camara.
He was the grandson of the late Ralph Mosher as well as Andre Sr. and Evelyn Thibodeau, all formerly of Dartmouth. He was the nephew of the late Luann (Mosher) Doucette and Janice (Thibodeau) Foley, both formerly of Westport.

A celebration of his life will take place on Sunday May 22, 2016 beginning at 5pm and will continue to 8pm at Rachel’s Lakeside, 950 State Road, Dartmouth, MA.
