Whitman - Edward Joseph Davis passed away peacefully in his sleep on May 15, 2016.
Eddie was born in Boston, MA on July 17, 1929, the son of John and Caroline (Mangel) Davis.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Ruth and his eight children; Michael, Mark, Brian, David, Paul, Daniel, Christine and Julie, and his sister Rita Allen, as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A graduate of English High school, Class of 1947, he studied Chemical Engineering at Michigan State University. He was a lifelong silversmith and owner of Davis Silver Co. in Boston, MA.
Eddie was a man with many interests. He could often be found splitting firewood on his front lawn. He had a passion for hiking, yoga, and meditation. His travels took him to Africa, Nepal and Europe. He grew up sailing in Boston Harbor. Then together with his wife, raised eight children on a small family farm in Whitman.
A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
