Obituary

Catherine V. Dingman, 78, formerly of Hampstead, passed away Sunday, May 15, 2016 at Aurora Senior Health Center of Derry, after a period of declining health. Catherine was born October 10, 1937 in Malden, MA and was a daughter of the late John and Isabel (Manfia) Griffin. She was raised in Somerville, MA and later moved to Medford with her family. After marriage, she moved to Michigan for 9 years prior to relocating to Hampstead, NH in 1967. In 1987 she again relocated to Haverhill, NH until returning to southern NH to be close to family.
Mrs. Dingman had been employed as the Office Manager for the Grafton County Conservation Commission in Woodsville, NH for several years prior to retirement. She was a Cub Scout leader in her younger years, as well as a deaconess in churches in Danville and Haverhill. She loved to garden and was a member of the Woodsville Garden Club. Catherine enjoyed genealogy, especially with regards to her Scottish heritage, which included her involvement in “Clan Donald”. She will forever be remembered for her love of family and the gatherings they would share.
Members of the family include her three sons, Vernon Dingman, IV and his wife Tammy of Hampstead, Victor Dingman of Barrington, NH and Vincent Dingman and his wife Michelle of Westfield, IN., six grandchildren, Noah, Tucker, Travis, Carleen, Emma and Samantha. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 57 years, Vernon Dingman, III in 2014 and by three siblings, Francis and John Griffin and Brenda Hawkins.
An hour of visitation was held on Saturday, May 21, 2016 from 3 to 4 pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St. Derry, NH with a funeral celebration that followed at 4 pm.
