MIDDLEBORO - Monica T. (McKie) Malone Davey, 73, of Middleboro died Tuesday at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. She was the wife of George W. Davey.
Born Oct. 10, 1931, in England, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Dora (Wiggins) McKie.
Mrs. Davey grew up during the London Blitz and after attending Chiswick Polytechnical Institute, worked for the American Red Cross.
An amateur painter, she enjoyed painting Scottish landscapes and animal portraits.
Mrs. Davey was a member of the Historical Society of Early American Decoration and had been a resident of Middleboro for the past 20 years.
She also enjoyed flower gardening, creative cooking and traveling.
She is survived by three daughters, Colonel Eileen B. Malone (USA, retired) and her husband Colonel Dale R. Brown (USA, retired) of Alexandria, Va., Patricia Polatchek of Manhattan, N.Y., and Mary Kate Kirkland and husband Max of Ormond Beach, Fla.; three sons, Michael L. Malone and wife Nina of Sandwich, Peter J. Malone of Manomet and Vincent D. Malone of Sagamore Beach; two sisters, Mrs. Sheila Grantham of Maidenhead, England, and Mrs. Patricia Pattinson of London; six grandchildren, Monica Kate Munn, Lillian Rose, Molly McKie Malone, Eric Malone, Myles Malone and Mallory Malone; and her former husband, Bernard H. Malone of Stuart, Fla.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, July 11, at 10 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, in Middleboro. Burial will be in the Titicut Parish Cemetery. Arrangements are by the Prophett Funeral Home, 98 Bedford St. (Rte. 18), Bridgewater.
