Helen V. (Rogers) Malone, 86, of New Bedford died Sunday July 10, 2005 at her daughter's home after a short illness. She was the wife of the late Paul T. Malone; they were married for 59 years.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Owen A. and J. Josephine (Rogers) Fleming, she lived in New Bedford for most of her life.
Mrs. Malone was a communicant of St. Lawrence Church in New Bedford.
She was a graduate of New Bedford High School.
Survivors include two daughters, Brenda (Malone) Savaria and her husband Normand M. of Greer, South Carolina and Mary-Ellen (Malone) Schofield and her husband Paul of Springfield, Vermont; a sister, Irene Bower of Waltham; a brother Richard Fleming of Columbus, Georgia; five grandchildren, Normand P. Savaria and his wife Megan of Spring Lake, New Jersey, Marc Savaria of Greenville, South Carolina, Lynn Savaria Freeman and her husband Reed of Mississippi, and Paul Schofield and Jill Schofield, both of Springfield, Vermont; four great-grandchildren, Britt and Dan Freeman and Colin and Shea Savaria; four cousins, Lula Waring and Steven Rogers, both of New Bedford, Irene Rogers of North Dartmouth, and Alice Sa of Fall River; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her first great-grandchild Reed Savaria Freeman.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford Friday July 15, 2005 at 9 AM. Funeral Mass at St. Lawrence Church at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be on Thursday July 14, 2005 from 6-8 PM. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, New Bedford. Memorial Contributions may be made to God's Pantry, C/O Tom Williams, P.O.
